XRP's social sentiment has reached its highest level in five weeks, while the mood around BTC and ETH remains subdued.

Data reveals that social media sentiment toward XRP has reached a five-week high, while interest in Bitcoin and Ethereum remains subdued. XRP’s positive-to-negative sentiment ratio has recently spiked.

In a new post on X, the analytics firm Santiment compared the current sentiment around XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. This indicator measures whether bullish or bearish comments are more prevalent on major social media platforms. The metric works by filtering posts and messages related to each cryptocurrency through a machine-learning model that identifies positive and negative sentiments, then calculates the ratio between them.

A value above 1 indicates more bullish than bearish comments, while a value below 1 suggests a negative sentiment is dominant.

The chart shared by Santiment shows that Bitcoin and Ethereum have both seen their sentiment ratios drop to near-neutral levels recently. Bitcoin’s ratio is at 1.05, meaning bullish and bearish comments are almost equal, while Ethereum’s is slightly higher at 1.4. Santiment noted that crypto markets have struggled to maintain momentum, with far fewer bullish comments for Bitcoin and Ethereum compared to last week.

In contrast, XRP’s positive-to-negative sentiment ratio has surged sharply. Despite recent market struggles like other cryptocurrencies, XRP’s ratio has risen to 2.35, its highest level in five weeks. Santiment attributes this divergence to recent partnership expansion announcements, which have sparked a wave of bullish comments.

However, if past patterns hold, this excitement may not necessarily lead to a price increase for XRP. Cryptocurrency markets often move contrary to majority expectations, meaning Bitcoin and Ethereum, with their relatively muted sentiment, could be better positioned for a rebound than XRP.

At the time of writing, XRP is trading around $1.39, up approximately 5% over the past week.
